This year’s Special Issue of Rohingya Genocide Remembrance reaffirms ARNA’s commitment to defending the rights, dignity, and future of the Rohingya people. The alliance was founded to achieve the right of self-determination and the right of return within a federal democratic union of Myanmar—through unity, justice, and peaceful coexistence.
We open with “Peaceful Coexistence in Arakan,” which reminds us that Rohingya and Rakhine once built a shared, multicultural society together. That history points to the only viable path forward: equal rights, mutual respect, and an end to cycles of hatred.
“Echoes of Rohingya Genocide in Rakhine” and “Situation in Arakan Poses Threat to Regional Stability” document today’s harsh realities: renewed massacres, forced displacement, and regional security risks as the Rohingya face violence from multiple sides.
In conclusion, we present the ARNA Activities (2023–2025), highlighting the ongoing advocacy, humanitarian outreach, and international engagement efforts that have continued despite ongoing challenges faced.
This issue is both testimony and a call to action. We urge the international community to protect civilians, ensure humanitarian access, hold perpetrators accountable, and uphold the principles of justice and coexistence. “Never again” must be more than a promise—it must be delivered in practice.
